This catlinite tomahawk was made as a souvenir, likely for sale by the Yankton Sioux and is made of pipestone which the Native Americans quarried at Pipestone Minn. The color is a medium red and the carving is quite nice. The blade features an Indian Chief wearing a headress and the handle is inscribed "PIPESTONE MINN."
