This unusual device consists of five turned maple pulleys mounted withen a turned maple shaft. The pulleys range in graduated size from the smallest at 1 3/4" in diameter to the largest at 5 1/2" in diameter. The craftsmanship is excellent with wonderful decorative turnings on the shaft and expertly turned pulley wheels. Now, I haven't got the foggiest idea of the original use of the device and if anyone actually knows I would certainly appreciate hearing from them. The surface is excellent with good deep color and an untouched patina.
