This offering is for a great folky pair of carved and painted wooden Elephant Book Ends. The book ends are not signed or dated but I would guess they were made about the 1930's, possibly earlier. The book ends have their original first coat of white paint with a wonderful crazed, worn and even a little dirty surface. Each of the book ends originally had a poured lead weight in the bottom but one of the weights is now missing.
