This wonderful footed coconut cup dates to the last half of the 19th century. The front of the cup features a design of a spread winged American Eagle with a banner above it's head that reads "IN GOD WE TRUST" The back side of the cup features a British Cost of Arms that reads "SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE HONI". The cup would have been carved by a sailor to pass idle hours, most likely as a give for someone at home.
