This wonderful turned wooden bowl is made from a cherry burl featuring dozens of birdseyes and outstanding tangled graining. The turning is simply exquiset, exhibiting a mastery of the wood turners art seldom seen or equaled. The bowl is large, measuring an impressive 13 3/4" in width and having a 1 3/4" wide, turned banded rim. The exterior of the bowl retains the original varnish surface that has darkened and mellowed to a spectaular deep reddish brown. The enterior of the bowl, below the shaped rim, is unfinished and exhibits a delightful deep untouched patina obtained from years of continous use.
