This offering is for a rare circa 1850's or earlier wrought iron and brass extending or telescoping double candlestick. The folding iron arms are fastened together with hand hammered rivets and each arm has an early pressed and spun brass candle holder attached at the end, also by a hand hammered rivet. Both arms connect at the back to a hand forged mount with a circular opening for placing over any form of metal or wood post and incorporating a thumb screw to allow for adjusting the height. The surface is untouched and uncleaned with a beautiful mellow patina.
